Become a Qualified Trainer & Assessor

Australian Trade Training College’s (ATTC) face-to-face Trainer and Assessor Workshop, combined with independent online learning, can assist you to commence a rewarding career as a Vocational Education Trainer and Assessor

ATTC has developed a unique course to support participants to successfully complete TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Our course includes:

  • Introductory pre-course independent learning and assessment;
  • A five day intensive face-to-face workshop combining practical assessment with hands on learning;
  • Three months independent online learning to complete all course requirements.


Throughout the duration of the course, participants will learn skills such as:

  • How to plan to deliver and assess training;
  • Training delivery techniques, including tips and hints;
  • How to support students language, literacy and numeracy requirements;
  • Assessment – what is it, how is it done and why;
  • Validation – why is it necessary?

To successfully complete TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, participants will need to complete the following units of competency:

  • TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs
  • TAEDES402A Use Training Packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
  • TAELLN411 Address Adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS402B Assess Competence
  • TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation processes.
  • TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction
  • TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
  • TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace

  • Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements for TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Pathways Information: After achieving TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, individuals may undertake TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment or may choose to undertake TAE70110 Vocational Graduate Certificate in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice.
